Drotops megalomanicus Eifelian trilobite Crotocephalus has small holochroal eyesThis is a magnificent LARGE Middle Devonian (probably Eifelian) trilobite of Drotops megalomanicus, from Jbel El Mrakib, Morocco. Drotops resembles a very large Phacops. The eyes have extremely well preserved schizochroal lenses and the tubercules on the cephalon are pronounced. The specimen is approximately 5. 8 inches long if flattened)and 2. 99 inches wide. The matrix and trilobite measure 3. 2 inches long, 5. 44 inches wide and 4. 1 inches high.
